The best actress award went to Maggie Cheung from Hong Kong for her performance as a junkie in the film Clean. #3. Israeli director Keren Yedeya's Or, the story of a prostitute mother and her daughter living in Tel Aviv, won her the Camera d'Or prize for best film-making debut.

Japanese film director Hirokazu Koreeda accepts the best actor award on behalf of Yagira Yuya for their film Nobody Knows Tony Gatlif accepts the award for best director for his film Exiles US film director and jury president Quentin Tarantino takes his place onstage for the closing ceremony
