VINCENZO BALSAMO: European Artist of the Year 2004

He mastered the sacred hidden language of lights and shadows. Balsamo's palette is an Iliad of transmigrated visions of an unexplored melodic, intellectual and lyrical  dimension. Although, structural compositions define a solid platform, Balsamo's lyricism transcends the frontiers of his canvases. His forms are free of conceptualism, yet, each piece tells the tale of conceptual visualization of esthetics, romanticism and freedom of evolutionary artistic expression. You can still observe the classical influence and roots in Balsamo's paintings, however, the eloquent and gently rebellious strokes of this Italian master attenuate the rigidity of traditional artistic dogma by imbibing a fresh breeze of freedom in the choice of colors, the multi-juxtaposed plans in the compositions, and above all the melodious unison between ideas, visions and interpretation on the landscape of his paintings. Balsamo immortalized the standards of excellence of the cubism masters through an honest conformity to the authentic spirit of early abstract art platform. But, also, he gave youth  and vivacity to the traditionalism in abstract art by freeing the canvas from conventionalism. One of the most striking characteristic elements of his genius is the perfection in assembling a body of visions belonging to an intense and deep inner world of feelings with eloquent simplicity of extended forms, figures and metamorphosed variety of colors. Balsamo admits " I synthesize  and analyze  my Cubist composition and frequently, I allow myself to criticize the techniques of the Masters, simply, because I intend to develop everything according to my own personal interpretation."

No doubt, Vincenzo Balsamo is the most accomplished contemporary painter in Europe. Last year, Balsamo has been nominated by the World Art Celebrities Journal as  the Man of the Year and the International Painter of 2003, the Artist of Month for February 2003 by The International  Center For The Study Of Progressive Neo Cubism,  the Artist of Month for February 2003 by ART-ATLAS.net L'Annuaire de l'Art, and  the Artist of the Month for August 2002 by GI GALLERIE ITALIANE.com. And today, the Monthly Herald elects Vincenzo Balsamo as the European Artist of the Year 2004.
