Once In A Lifetime – A Celebration in Song of the Life and
Music of Anthony Newley. Featuring Star of The Phantom of the Opera, GARTH
BARDSLEY with Sandra Lambert (piano), Jeff Lardner (drums) and Alec Dankworth
(bass) performing such hits as: Who Can I Turn to?, What Kind Of
Fool, Am I? and Pop Goes The Weasel - “…excellent…” The Times. “A hugely
talented performer…with a voice one could die for” Musical Stages.
Garth Bardsley was born in Stockport, Cheshire. When he was four he told his
family he wanted to be an opera singer when he grew up! He went to Harrytown
High School and in 1984 he won a choral scholarship to St. John's College,
Cambridge, where he read music. After graduating he returned to Manchester to
study at the Royal Northern College of Music and then he joined the D'Oyly
Carte Opera Company with whom he made his West End debut in the roles of Nanki
Poo and Frederic (Savoy Theatre). Garth has worked extensively in opera and
has been a soloist for various companies including Buxton Opera Festival,
English Bach Festival and Wexford Festival Opera.
Theatre work includes Mozart in "Mozart and Salieri" (Actors Touring Company); Mister Erlanson (Theatre Royal, Plymouth) and Count Carl - Magnus Malcolm (Leicester Haymarket) in "A Little Night Music"; Raoul in Ken Hill's "Phantom Of The Opera" (Japan and Manila); Sam in "Street Scene" (ENO Baylis programme); Harry / Young Scrooge in "Scrooge - The Musical" (national tour); David Herold (Derby Playhouse) and John Wilkes Boothe in "Assassins" (New End Theatre); Dick Dauntless in "Ruddigore" (Gawsworth Festival); Orville in "Elegies For Angels Punks And Raging Queens" (Library Theatre, Manchester); Mr Bingley in "Pride And Prejudice" (national tour); Dr. Treves in "The Elephant Man" (workshop production); Quentin in "Baby On Board" (Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough); Cinderella's Prince in "Into The Woods" (Leicester Haymarket); Raoul and The Phantom in Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Phantom Of The Opera" (Manchester Opera House and Her Majesty's Theatre London) and in HMS Pinafore. He has also appeared in the Jerry Herman revue show "Best Of Times" at the Vaudeville Theatre and most recently as Tony in "The Lodger" at the Jermyn Street Theatre.Garth also directs and produced a new opera "The Basement Room" for the Royal Academy of Music in London. He has also directed another new opera "May We Borrow Your Husband" for the Lichfield International Festival and directed a musical theatre summer school in Seattle, USA. He directed and appeared in "Chalk And Cheese" at the Jermyn Street Theatre. Other shows he has directed include "A Murder Is Announced" (E15 Theatre School). He has also staged and appeared in "The Best Of The West End" at the Oldham Colliseum, "A Little Late Night Music" at the Derby Playhouse, "Afterwards at the Stephen Joseph", "Best Of Broadway" for the National Trust, "This Can't Be Love", "The Other Half", "Fabulous Places", "Mad About The Boy", "On With The Show" and "Schmondheim!".Television work includes "Emmerdale Farm", "Watching", "Coronation Street", "Miss A and Miss M", "All For Love", "Sherlock Holmes" and "The Brothers Grimm". On film he has appeared as The Straight Jacket Patient in "Day Release" for Bolt-On Films. Radio work includes "Blithe Spirit - A Centenary Celebration" (Radio 2), "Trouble In Tahiti" (Radio 3) and "The Aimer Gate" (Radio 4).

The band pays tribute to the great Jazz artists of our time - Miles Davis, Chet Baker, Oscar Peterson, Art Blakey, Buddy Rich and many more - come and join in the fun PETER BRIGHTMAN and Friends. Peter Brightman (drums), Miles Danso (double bass), Andrew McCormack (piano), Chris Allard (guitar), Quentin Collins (trumpet), Robin Fincker (tenor saxophone) and guest pianist Michael Gelardi.
