Gwyneth: I will raise my baby in Spain. Tom Cruise helps the homeless. Charlize escapes Oscar glitters.
Hollywood
beauty Gwyneth Paltrow has ditched her plans to raise her unborn baby
in England - opting for sunny Spain instead. The Oscar-winning actress - who
will give birth to her and husband Chris Martin's first child in the
summer - was given a 5 acre piece of land as a Christmas present from friends
and thinks the remote location will suit her family's needs perfectly. And
since falling in love with the quiet village of Buenaventura, central Spain,
Gwyneth and her Coldplay singer spouse are planning to build a lavish mansion
on the spot. Gwyneth explains, "We had decided to bring up our child in
England, but now I have this piece of land in Spain."The blonde beauty
was
given the gift by old pals Jesus and Julia Lazaro, who own a palatial
property nearby, who Gwyneth has known since she was 15. Movie
superstar Tom Cruise was so moved by the plight of homeless people near
his film set recently - he immediately moved to ease their problems. The Last
Samurai hunk was shooting upcoming thriller Collateral in a downtown area of
Los Angeles when he saw a group of street dwellers living nearby. And
Cruise - who dates Spanish siren Penelope Cruz - was so horrified
by their living condition he sent his assistant out to buy them blankets,
pillows, sleeping bags and coats. Hotly-tipped Oscar nominee Charlize
Theron has
become
so overwhelmed by the attention lavished on her - she fled to Brazil to
escape. The Monster actress decided to take a 10-day break to the South
American nation recently after winning countless Best Actress accolades during
the Awards season, including a Golden Globe. And Charlize - who dates
Irish hunk Stuart Townsend - believes the trip has helped her to continuing
enjoying the acclaim heaped up her performance as serial killer Aileen
Wuornos. She says, "I took ten days off. I went to Brazil and just kind of
got away from it all, and I think that was good because I don't want to get to
a place where it just becomes too overwhelming. "So I'm
just
enjoying it and feeling very happy about all of it!" Movie beauty Kirsten
Dunst had to learn how to run again on the set of upcoming romantic comedy
Wimbledon- to convince audiences she's a tennis champion. The Spiderman
actress was tutored by former tennis star Pat Cash, and soon found her
old running style simply wouldn't do. The 21-year-old says, "Pat was always
saying, 'Run like a panther', because at first I ran across the court like a
fairy. "By the end of it, though, I was whacking the stuffing out of the ball.
It was funny." Hollywood couple Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie
Prince Jr. have vowed to never work together again - despite co-
starring
in five films. The Buffy beauty and her actor husband have appeared in I Know
What you did Last Summer, She's All That- where Gellar has a cameo role as a
high school girl in a cafeteria - both Scooby Doo films and they both provided
the voices in forthcoming animated film Happily N'Ever After. However, Gellar
has found combining their home and work lives is too difficult, Gellar says,
"It's difficult to live with someone and come to work too. I wouldn't
recommend it. Luckily in this situation, we were doing a big action, fun,
cartoon movie. "It wasn't serious and I didn't go home every night wondering,
'How ever will I say my one line tomorrow?' It
was
a little bit easier and freer, but I don't think you'll ever be seeing the big
drama story between us." Newly-single Jennifer Lopez's ex-husband
Chris Judd has been back in touch with the luscious Latina via e-mail -
sparking speculation he wants to reignite their romance. The hunky
choreographer was devastated when the Jenny From the Block beauty left him
after just nine months and soon became engaged to Gigli co-star Ben
Affleck. But despite his hurt - which was evident when broke down in tears
on American reality show I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! - Judd remains
fiercely loyal to Lopez, who dumped Affleck last month. He says, "I
will always be there for her, if she wants to reach out for me. My phone's
always on." Judd is now dating singer Paula Rubio, while
Lopez
has been linked to ex-flame Marc Anthony. Malcolm in the Middle and
Cody Banks star Frankie Muniz has given his father somewhere to
live after years of estrangement. The 18-year-old actor, who recently bought
himself a mansion in Brentwood, California, admits his former restaurant
manager father Frank has just come back into his life - and they're now living
together in his plush new home. He says, "My dad actually just came (to my
house) for the first time. (It's) a few years (since) I'd seen him. "He came
to my house and he was just blown away because he's never been around me since
I've been on the show. He was just like, 'Wow! This is awesome!'" He doesn't
have a place right now, so he's staying with me." Oscar-nominated actor Ken
Watanabe has joined the cast of director Christopher Nolan’s highly
anticipated film about the origins of the Batman legend. Watanabe, who
is nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his performance as Tom
Cruise's nemesis in "The Last Samurai", will play the villainous Ra’s Al
Ghul, alongside stars Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman; Michael
Caine as his trusted butler Alfred; Katie Holmes as a childhood
friend of Wayne’s; Liam Neeson as Wayne’s mentor, Henri Ducard;
and Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, a former board member and sidelined
employee of Wayne Enterprises. Directed by Christopher Nolan from a
screenplay by David Goyer, the film is produced by Emma Thomas,
Charles Roven and Larry Franco. The executive producers are
Ben Melniker and Michael Uslan. The project is scheduled to start
production in London in March. The film, which explores the origins of the
Batman legend and the Dark Knight’s emergence as a force for good in Gotham,
will be released worldwide in 2005 by Warner Bros. Pictures HollywoodTeensNews.
