LISA BOUCHELLE

This sweet and explosive singer/songwriter/performer/musician is a delightful human being. Very down to earth, simple but sharp. Polite, tender, fun, sometimes pensive, some other times easy going, flirting with the winds free of thoughts and expectations. A trooper. Practical. Sensitive. On one hand, you see in her a sparkling diva in the making, and on the other hand, you wish if Lisa would stay for ever the way she is, uncomplicated, giving and generous, sentimental, a tender aroma in the air, a doll, an innocent soul with daring thoughts.

Her recent 2 CDs are redefining the genre Soul-Funk-Grooves-Rock. She created this style and ran away with it. A new approach to dynamic up beat pop rock with justified madness on the edge of a genius mind and sexy, soaring wild, classy voice… She is terrific! I needed to know more about this best hidden secret, or should I say best hidden treasure. So, I decided to interview her. In fact, I did not want to interview her at first. I thought that she was too much for me, too crazy for my retired and retarded thoughts and maybe too volatile. But I was wrong. Wrong hundred per cent. I began to learn a lot about this “angelic musical devilish diva” from reading a vast literature on her, listening to her music, deciphering her lyrics, asking questions about her and pushing Valerie Constand to ask her questions and more questions. She has also sung the national anthem several times at Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia before Phillies games, as well as at Waterfront Park in Trenton, NJ, home to one of the New York Yankees' farm teams.

Her energetic live shows have garnered Lisa an extensive following in her home state of Pennsylvania, as well as her adopted second home in New Orleans, where she makes periodic sojourns to perform. Her music has taken her across the country, from New York City to Los Angeles, and many points in between Besides her live performances, Lisa is a prolific songwriter, and is on the cusp of the new sounds being popularized by artists such as Michelle Branch, Vanessa Carlton and Avril Lavigne. But what truly separates Lisa from the pack is her soaring vocals, and the charisma she exudes from the stage, whether it be in a small club, or opening for a major artist. Lisa also manages to find time to pursue her sideline as a model, and was the driving force behind "Girls To The Fourth Power," a traveling group of rotating female artists that performed in clubs in various East Coast cities. "It involved female artists with indie releases," explains Lisa. "So the music tends to be a little off the beaten path, and very creative." Lisa loves life, stormy music, romance and delightful madness. In my books those qualities are the ingredients and fabric of a talented artist. Lisa is certainly one!
