Peppe Aveni is a self-assured artist. Infinite limpid strokes of genius and profound affection for natural beauty drive Aveni to the edge of irresistible magnetic field called Divinity of Art, “L’Arte Divino”. In other words, Aveni brings the traditions of the old Italian Masters to a dinner table, where Champagne and caviar are served not at the tune of Puccini’s La Boheme but at the bigger than life vibrato of Gabriella Ferri, Jean Cocteau and the latest adventurer around the corner who is going to tell you stories about his village sweetheart and the Ferrari he parked in an alley… Aveni knows that, because he has mastered the palette of colors. Rich, vibrant, tender, eloquent, elegant and sincere. In those colors, a big part of our life, the villages we loved, the shores we stroll on, the streets benches who shared our patience, hope and awaiting the arrival of our darling…in those colors, Aveni plays games with us, brings us memories maybe we do not want to remember because they were so dear to us and vanished without warning us…

Aveni’s colors
are bigger than life and smaller than the worries it bring to us uninvited.
Aveni’s compositions are bigger than life because the sensations you share
with and from his paintings are real, and because life is no more ugly when
you look at Aveni’s work. I love his paintings. A pure, honest and brilliant
simplicity in concept yet, delicately elevated to an ascending metamorphosis
of tranquility, beauty, mastery of forms, shapes and colors unrestricted by
rules and what makes us fear…think…and forget beautiful visions we saw in
dreams, or maybe we never saw…and sometimes, that what kills us….not to
experience and witness beauty! Aveni is a great artist!
If you look at Aveni’s streets,
they are empty. But, you know somebody who cares about you and never told you
that, might be there…at the end of the streets curve waiting for you…at least,
you might experience this feeling in silence, and this is a wonderful
experience because, Aveni’s streets don’t end on the canvas…just look at
them…look one more time, they unite with shadows and unseen majestic and
friendly presence beyond modest houses. A presence we love to call Serenity.
Aveni mastered the light,
reflections of lights, the shadows, the depth of shadows, the colors, the
immensity and infinity of colors….Aveni is a great master. Humble in life he
remains but, his art is soaring!
