DEAR PEGGY: LETTERS TO THE EDITOR                                                                  peggy-north@monthlyherald.com

Saudi security forces killed the kingdom's top al Qaeda leader Abdulaziz al-Muqrin and two other militants on June 18, 2004 shortly after the group beheaded U.S. engineer Paul Johnson, a senior security source said. 'Yes it is correct, he (Muqrin) was killed with two other senior militants,' the source told Reuters. He said Muqrin was one of three militants killed in the al-Malazz area of the capital, Riyadh, in a shootout. A file image taken from an Islamist Web site shows a hooded man purported to be Muqrin. (Reuters)YOU WERE NOT TOTALLY FAIR. YOU WERE BIASED
Your article on the "freedom fighters" started good but later you shifted and became biased and anti-Arab. Why did you call them bloody terrorists? They were nice to you. They gave you presents and invited you to their home. You are ungrateful. People like you make me vomit. I like a lot your magazine, I have all the old copies but now I will never read again your magazine. Salim Jabbar, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

I read the whole article you wrote about Al Qaeda. I congratulate you. You hit it on the nose. You showed us how dangerous those thugs are. Write more. Ray Miller, Kent, UK.

SOPHIAnDALLE                                                                                                                                                                            Thank you for the wonderful article that you wrote on Sophia Dalle. We feel audiences in both Paris and London will enjoy  Ms. Dalle performance when she arrives. We are looking forward to meeting you in the near future. Sincerely, Gloria Tait, Athena Talent Management. Beverly Hills, CA, USA.

I  liked very much the article you wrote about Sophia Dalle, although, I am not familiar with the name. I have never seen Sophia Dalle on stage but I take your word for granted. However, her answers, wit and  personality convinced me that she could be a terrific singer. Where can I hear Ms Dalle's? Does she perform in California. Rhea Blumberg, Los Angeles, CA, USA.

You are right, she is terrific. Contact her agent at athenatalent@earthlink.net. We do believe that she will be performing soon at "Don't Tell Mama" in New York City.

ANDRE RIEU

Dear, dear Mr. Lafayette. Have the Lafayettes come to our rescue AGAIN!!!!? The article is superb, and gets right to the core of the "Rieu Mystique".  Faith Carlton e-mailed me your reply to her.  Both Faith and I spent hundreds of hours attempting to promote the North Carolina concert in our areas.  She lives in the "big city" and I live 65 miles from Raleigh in the country, so it was a real task to get publicity here---BUT we did---and I plan to donate my time again next year IF we are rewarded with his presence. It is INCOMPREHENSIBLE that YOU cannot gain access to Maestro's "ear." From this end, we will try to get through in whatever way we can. Thank you for bearing witness and validating his genius---it makes the rest of us seem a LITTLE less terminally OBSESSED! Marsey Peterson   NC, USA.
