1. Diane Keaton made her own fashion statement in an outfit resembling film legend Charlie Chaplin. 2. Charlize Theron was tipped to win the best actress prize for her role in Monster. 3. Whale Rider star Keisha Castle-Hughes, aged 13, is the youngest best actress nominee to grace the ceremony.

1. Charlize Theron thanked "everyone" in her native South Africa after winning the best actress prize. 2. Best actor winner Sean Penn, known for his outspoken anti-war views, referred to weapons of mass destruction in his acceptance speech. 3. Cold Mountain star Renee Zellweger was emotional as she took to the stage for her best supporting actress award.

1. Tim Robbins received his best supporting actor prize from one of last year's recipients, Catherine Zeta Jones. 2. Former Eurythmics singer Annie Lennox was honoured for the song Into the West from The Return of the King. 3. Sofia Coppola missed out on best director but won best original screenplay for Lost In Translation.
