EDITORIAL. Cont'd.                                                                                                                      By Maximillien de Lafayette, Esquire, Editor-in-Chief lafayette@monthlyherald.com

We will do to ourselves what we expect of others," President Bush said.                                                                                              US National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice earlier expressed "the United States' deep sorrow over the US troops' abuses against the Iraqi prisoners".

The list of those frightening words should look much shorter, and with much less words, for ironically and tragically enough, the word WAR contains all of the above. And this human nature, my friends...And this is VERITAS HUMANA!

Do not ever think for a moment, that those cold hearted American soldiers who committed those atrocities in Iraq represent the nature, the psyche and spirit of the American people. Do you want to talk about atrocities? Then knock your head off with ethnically. religiously, geo-politically, racially motivated, fueled and imbibed acts of hatred and atrocities like the Nazi Holocaust, the  1910-1914 Armenian Genocide, the Khmers Rouges massacres, the Ignace de Loyola Inquisition, The Vatican's mass murders of the Cathares and the Templars in the Languedoc, Mont Segur  and all over Europe, Joan of Arc torched on stakes, Japanese war atrocities in Manchuria,  Al Sahika's and early PLO Palestinians and communist militias killing 550,000 Christians in the streets of Beirut, the Christian Maronite-Catholic Phalangists massacres of Palestinian refugees in the Camp of Sabra and Tal Zaatar in Lebanon, the joint Egyptian-Syrian military troops and militias cutting the Christians head off, genitals and eyes in 1958 at "Al Maslakh", Lebanese-Syrian Borders, "Bastah", "Mouseytbeh", "Sakyet Al Janzeer", "Tallat Al Khayat", "Tripoli", talk about the barbarians dragging the bodies of American soldiers in the streets of Somalia, talk about the 3,500 innocent people killed at the World Trade Center, talk about the "Arab canisters" filled with explosive gas and wrapped with explosives which  detonated with force equivalent to more than 12,000 pounds of TNT, which  at 6:22 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 23, 1983 in Beirut killed 241 Americans; 220 Marines, 18 sailors, and more than  150 innocent Lebanese...And do not forget the "Alamo", "Massada",  "Pearl Harbor",  the Russian tanks rolling over the Hungarian bodies in Budapest...

President Bush is currently speaking directly to the people in Arab nations and letting  them know that the images that we all have seen are shameless and unacceptable,   abuse of prisoners at Abu Ghraib prison near Baghdad was an aberration, and that guilty parties would be dealt with swiftly and firmly. We are chagrinned and shocked by those acts of atrocities  in Iraq committed by a bunch of lunatics. "We're taking and will continue to take whatever steps are necessary to hold accountable those that may have violated the code of military conduct and betrayed the trust placed in them by the American people.", said Mr Donald Rumsfeld, Secretary of Defense", and I do strongly and honestly believe him.
