Moral Decay and Morality Decadence in America. Really? The FCC Ethical Police Role...Censorship? Do you really care, if nobody "really" cares about you?
New ethics standards on Wall Street? Would or could the rich and powerful people really care about you? Would Tony Blair, Bill O'Reilly, Neil Cavuto, Jay Leno, David Letterman, the big shots of the media, the vain talk shows hosts and the entertainment stars put bread on your table and feed your family? Don't cash on it!! So, why are you taking them seriously?
Can the federal government in the United States revoke a broadcasting network licence, because one of its talk show host displayed obscenity and public moral offense? It could, if the White House is behind it. But how about the first amendment so dear to Americans? The giants of the American media would not allow it to happen. They have so much power over politicians, and the impact of the media on the American public is tremendous and alarming. Recently, the American tube aired a jolly daring variety of nudity and controversial programs; Janet Jackson flashing her boobs; Howard Stein constantly and regularly parading prostitutes, hookers and stripers on his shows who appear completely naked to the exclusive personal delight of Mr. Stern; Madonna and others sucking face and kissing each others on the lips and the tongues; Jerry Springer allowing on his show, family members, friends and foes alike to publicly hit, punch and kick each other and tear family members and relatives' head off! The list is endless!! But, let's be honest, empirically alert and admit that sex is a hot commodity in the United States, dancing on equal foot and side by side with football games, political gossips and silly talk show hosts who arrogantly comment on every single, imaginable and possible topic in the world ..and recently, the outrageously ridiculous rage against Mr. Gibson' The Passion of The Christ!
So, nothing is going to happen. Mr. Stein will get back his program with a higher rating. Janet Jackson will cut more CDs and the recording companies will cash on her scandal. Vain and silly talk shows hosts will keep on badmouthing people and prolifically commenting on the whole world issues and problems. Millions will go to see Mr. Gibson's film and maybe will forget about it by the end of the season. Michael Jackson will be acquitted. Bryant Kobe will get off the hook. Limbaugh will pay a small penalty fee for his drug addiction. Martha Stewart will be fined and walk out. All the big shots and highly visible media personality will stay on the air. The Dollars will keep up pouring. The rich will get richer and the struggling middle class will continue to struggle and stupidly applaud the powerful, the rich and the famous!! That is the "fact" of life in America. The more, it changes, the more it stays the same thing.
The issue is not morality. The complexity of the sudden concern of the American federal government about decency and obscenity on the air is in fact simple and hypocritical. The whole picture rotates around public attention and rubbing the shoulders of competitors and foes in a very steaming election year. So, sit put, forget about Prime Minister Blair dodging spying questions, the home secretary unveiling new anti-terror measures, Labour chairman Ian McCartney expelling Clare Short from the party, Mrs. Stewart, the media frenzy, Mr. Andy Rooney et al commentaries, the heated debates and derogatory accusations of presidential candidates, the quest, denial or veracity of the AMD, President George W. Bush's foreign policy toward Haiti , establishing a democracy in Iraq (it will never happen), the $84 Millions the Rolling Stones made last year, the silly and vain talks of Joan Rivers about the Oscar Red Carpet Parade of stars wardrobes and gowns. Forget all about it and concentrate on the welfare and stability of your family, your loved ones and on how to put bread on your table. Simply, because presidential candidates, Oscar nominees and winners, Mr. Donald Trump's reality show, Mr. Stein's explosive program, stability in Iraq, opinions of Leno, Letterman, Joan Rivers, Depp, etc., will not do you any good. They are there and they will stay there to serve their own interests and prosper.
Believe me, nothing is going to change. For better or worse. The most important thing you should think about is YOU. Your very own "Yourself" and family! Nobody is going to define your happiness, success and stability. In brief, the whole silly charade of media frenzy pivots and rotates around gossips, the rich and famous who in first place never took care of you or considered you seriously. Do not let their ego condition your way of life and absolute determination to succeed in life.
America will continue to prosper...to create heroes, later on to destroy them...to craft scandals and cash on it...to interfere in foreign countries domestic affairs under the umbrella of world conscience and democracy, later on to regret it, for those who benefited from America's generosity did not show appreciation and gratitude...America will remain the greatest nation on earth despite the world's hate and confusion surrounding her borders and interests in foreign countries... and the nations of the whole world will continue to copy the lifestyle of the Americans! So dear friends, what's new? Absolutely nothing!
