DEAR PEGGY: LETTERS TO THE EDITOR peggy-north@monthlyherald.com
PRINCESS DIANA'S BUTLER ONE-MAN SHOW
Photo:
Paul Burrell, Princess Diana's butler.
Hello Peggy: A brief note for your readers. Paul Burrell said, "I know there are millions of people out there who, like me, adored the princess and remember her as vividly as I do. In sharing my memories with a theatre audience, I want to illustrate her magic, explain the truths and dispel the myths. Far too many royal advisers would be happy for the princess to be airbrushed from history. I think we should celebrate her name and memory, and this evening at the theatre will be a tribute to a remarkable, unforgettable woman. I am greatly looking forward to the evening, and explaining what has happened to me, both the good and the bad, in my own words. The public can then make up its own mind about me." Mr Burrell's extraordinary revelations have sparked a huge reaction from both the media and the Palace, but he is determined to continue in his duty to defend the princess, and share his historic account with the general public. Mr Burrell has been quoted the world over. Now, with this one-man show, he can be heard speaking openly and candidly about life with the princess Abbie Sampson from Penguin said, "The book has been a huge hit with the public and the stage show now gives people a unique opportunity to question Paul in person and hear his extraordinary story." Everybody should go and see Mr Burrell's show "Paul Burrell: In His Own Words" on Broadway. Ken Richardson, London, UK.
BUTLER'S SHOW IS SELF-SERVING

Adams.
Hi Peggy: Rumours of an affair between Bryan Adams and the late Diana have been circulating for years (the two did admit to being good friends), but the reports have usually been dismissed as tabloid gossip-mongering. Thomsen claims that Adams hooked up with Diana through Paul Burell, the Princess’ butler, who recently released a controversial tell-all book which reveals many unrealistic details of Diana’s personal life. In the book, A Royal Duty, Burell claims that Diana had nine lovers and, although he doesn’t name any names, he describes one of her suitors as "a leading musician." According to Danish actress Cecilie Thomsen, who broke up with Adams last year after a 12-year relationship, the answer is "yes." Thomsen has just told Danish magazine Billed Bladet that while Adams was dating her, he was also carrying on an affair with Princess Diana. Although, the rumours might be factual but I doubt it, , it is not the time nor the place for Paul Burrell to spread more rumours and cash more money on dirty gossips which he managed to use to make a personal fortune. I do not think that his Broadway show is intended to honor the memory of Princess Diana. Mr Butler's show is self-serving. Charles Carey, London, UK.
PAUL McCARTNEY'S SHOW DAMAGES ARTS AND PAINTINGS

Photo: Paul McCartney's rock concert attracted more than 65,000 fans.
Dear Ms Peggy. I was chagrined to hear that Paul McCartney's concert near St Petersburg's Hermitage Museum damaged many valuable artworks of the museum. What a shame! Mikhail Piotrovski , director of the Hermitage Museum said it was "totally unacceptable" to hold a concert so close because noise vibrations had damaged paintings. Something has to be done so there are no more irresponsible rock stars who would cause severe damages to art. Cynthia Shaw, London, UK.
